Rukun Tetangga vs GnG
As long as the authorities allow corrupt RAs to operate illegal GnG schemes in our non-strata neighbourhoods, Rukun Tetangga will never take off. Why? Because corrupt RAs won't be able to profit from operating Rukun Tetangga's Skim Rondaan Sukarela.
They are not interested in KRT because they won't be able to collect monthly fees from the residents. It is so easy to enrich themselves when they operate any informal GnG schemes - just hire one or two guards and start collecting monthly "security fees" from the residents. Then they install access cards system to make their operation easier. As simple as that.
It seems these amendments to the Rukun Tetangga bill does not prioritize Rukun Tetangga scheme over informal GnG schemes and thus makes little differences.
Perhaps the authorities should look into the applications of RAs who wished to set up new or to renew their GnG schemes - firstly they will have to show proof that they have briefed all the residents on the matter and the majority of them want to pay for an illegal GnG scheme rather than a free government's empowered Rukun Tetangga scheme.

Non-strata Gated and Guarded Communities are unlawful?

Maka dengan ini kami bagi pihak penduduk majoriti di sini MEMBANTAH dengan sekeras-kerasnya sebarang pelan untuk mewujudkan GnG, dan meminta supaya MBDK tidak memberi kelulusan kepada mana-mana pihak untuk melaksanakan sebarang skim di taman perumahan bukan swasta atau strata.
Pihak penduduk majoriti di sini juga ingin pihak MBDK mengambil tindakan serta membubarkan skim sediada yang tidak memperolehi kelulusan sekian lama.
Kepada semua penduduk komuniti di sini - pastikan anda membantah skim yang tidak sah, skim yang tidak mendapat kelulusan dan jangan terpedaya dengan skim yang hanya menguntungkan setengah pihak tetapi membebankan komuniti dan masyarakat.
Kepada penduduk yang inginkan fasiliti "Gated Community", sila pindah ke Eco Ardence (Gated Community yang sah) atau mana-mana skim berpagar lain yang sah.
Justeru itu tidak hairan mesyuarat agung yang telah diadakan baru-baru ini hanya mendapat sambutan minoriti sahaja sebab majoriti penduduk di sini sudah tidak lagi menyokong GnG tidak sah ini. Harap bubar sahaja!

RAs are making huge profits every month and should be made to adopt e-invoicing for transparency and to reduce corruption
We beg to differ... RAs that operate GnG schemes are actually making lots of money quietly. And RAs should be made to adopt e-invoicing too because they are taking in huge profits from the residents. By right they should not even be regarded as non-profit organizations (This is a giant loophole for unscrupulous RAs to make money by bullying the residents into paying monthly maintenance fees for their informal GnG schemes despite no facilities).
Certain quarters are reaping in massive amounts of profits quietly tax-free from this shadow economy. No wonder there is a proliferation of informal gated/guarded community schemes everywhere in Malaysia. Many are run by syndicates and thugs, as this has become a multi-million ringgit black industry in the country.
It's time the government did something about this menace and we fully support the government's move that requires them to adopt e-invoicing. Afterall they are reaping in massive amounts of money in the name of non-profit entities without anyone knowing.
To all paying residents... please make sure you get your monthly e-invoices from your RA. (Only legitimate RAs will issue you e-invoices)
